Will the city or county animal services help me with a bird issue?
There are plenty of pesky critters that will come around your home that you will want to do everything you can to try to get rid of them. Such things as raccoons, snakes, bats, and other animals like this can become a serious nuisance around your home. This is why it becomes imperative that you do all that you can to get rid of them.
In many instances, animals like this can be quite dangerous to you. Some of these animals, like bats and snakes, can carry some fairly serious diseases with them that can be a health risk to you and your family. Apart from hiring a professional to do the job of removal of this animal, there are, at times, other sources that can assist you in getting rid of animals like this.
Your local county or city animal control can be of assistance with nuisance kinds of animals that pose a health risk. The key phrase in that statement is health risk. No animal control agent is coming out to get a raccoon or a bat that is making a home out of your home, and less there is a serious threat to public health and safety. This usually occurs when the animal is clearly infected with something like rabies. Because this is a very dangerous disease to human beings, animal control is likely to assist you in capturing and removing an animal like this because of the risk that they pose to you, your family, your pets, and the community as a whole. This is a serious condition and so drastic measures are taken.
However, when there is not a serious risk then these agents are quite unlikely to attend it to an animal that is posing a nuisance to you and your property. You may not like your raccoon on your land, but that does not mean that it needs to have an agent of the government remove it from your property. It just simply isn't a feasible option.
With this in mind, it's important to understand that if you have birds that are coming onto your property that you would like removed you should be aware that the county or city animal control unit is not coming out to remove this animal or animals. There simply is no way that this is going to happen in less the birds show a serious form of illness that would require the agents to intervene.
First of all, understand that birds fly away to another location all the time. If there is some illness in those birds by the time that the agent came out to your house it could be very likely that the birds are gone. So there is no sense in them taking any kind of action to try to capture the birds when this may become a completely useless endeavor. In most instances, the only time they will come out is if birds are dropping and dying on your property and they need to come and find if there is some issue that needs to be attended to. This is a very rare occurrence.
Consider also the common sense portion of this entire situation. If you and every person in your community called to have birds removed from your property, consider how little time the animal control agent or agents would actually have. There are literally millions of birds that most likely live in your community. Do you really think that agents have enough time to come out and capture and remove every one of these animals? If you don't see the absurdity in that possibility that it's time to reevaluate the way you're thinking. This is not intended to be little you in any way; it's just time to get a dose of reality. There is no way that birds could be captured in this manner by the animal control agents.
Most importantly, there is no real reason to capture these birds. You can take a few steps of your own to scare them off so that they will leave your property. While, that may only be a temporary solution, having an agent come to get them as a temporary solution as well. As soon he or she let them go they could return to your property in the same way as if you scare them off. Birds can fly incredibly long distances and they have quite a homing mechanism in them that makes returning to a location a lot easier for them then you might imagine.
If you do not want birds on your property, then you need to take steps to get them to leave you alone. This begins by removing food and water sources that may be available to them on your property. Don't have birdbaths, birdfeeders, and other sources of food out that the bird can come and get nourishment from. If it has no reason to come to your property it will not return.
In addition, a great solution to getting animals like birds off of your property is to get a cat or a dog. They frequently will chase after birds and so the creatures will do all they can to avoid your property if it means that they may be attacked by your pet. This becomes the perfect solution while also giving you and your family a wonderful companion.
